The Cities on Film Screening Series is a new series this year to screen city films. In the tradition of previous subterranean series organized by geography & planning graduate students, screenings will be held in the basement of Sidney Smith Hall.

We welcome an interdisciplinary audience of graduate students, faculty, and others who are interested in an informal screening series to engage film and its varied intersections with place, planning, urban themes & geographic thought. To kick things off, the ‘cities’ theme will feature iconic urban films.

Screenings are free and will occur on every second Wednesday, from 6-8pm @ the Taylor Room Annex, Sidney Smith Hall (100 St. George street, Toronto) January through April, 2010.

This website will be updated regularly; a week in advance of each screening, a background blurb framing the film and links to recommended readings will be posted for the upcoming film.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope you’ll join us.
